Tabaklok (Tobbaco Locomotive) #01.22 during its one year display at the Swiss National Railroad Museum was the largest locomotive constructed at SLM (Swiss Locomoitve Works) in 1935. It is called a Tobbaco Locomotive because It was a series of 6 units of the Mikado type ordered by the then kingdom of Bulgaria. As the deal stipulated the six engines were to be payed for with Bulgarian tobacco. Since this photo was taken #01.22 has been move to VVT (Vapeur Val-de-Travers) who are restoring it to operational status. |
